That's a quite normal sound coming from the headphones, it can get bad if the slider pin is unusually stiff. The best way to fix this would be to lubricate the pin with either bike oil or wd40 spray, that should loosen it up and stop the clicking sound. It won't damage the headphones in any way to use these products on them.
