BEAUTIFUL
ACADEMY
We are committed to shaping the future of music creation by empowering creators and breaking down barriers at every stage. In collaboration with SHERELLE's platform BEAUTIFUL, we are hosting a series of free workshops in London throughout October 2022.

Each workshop will be hosted by SHERELLE, giving 15 students access to hands-on classes, lectures and talks about how to navigate the music industry, better their artistic craft and learn about electronic music and how ingrained Black and queer artists are in its history. The first session will cover the history and political impact of Black music with journalist, author and DJ, Marcus Barnes with some of the most exciting names in electronic music, Lil Silva, Mura Masa and LCY giving a workshop on production. DJ and writer Elijah will discuss the economical and social aspects of the industry followed by a roundtable discussion with key professional figures from managers to PRs such as Phoebe Gold (manager, PinkPantheress), Errol (Touching Bass), SHERELLE (BEAUTIFUL), Mitch Stevens (Revenant Earth), Hannah Shogbola (United Talent) plus special guest. The final lesson will be on the cultural impact of Black music and examining the rise of PinkPantheress, PinkPantheress herself will be there and in conversation with SHERELLE.
The main premise of these workshops is to help give people a foot up in their career in music, nurture their development and educate them in both the business and creative aspects of the music industry. They are specifically aimed towards queer and BIPOC students from various economic backgrounds.

BEAUTIFUL
Created in 2021, BEAUTIFUL is SHERELLE’s response to whitewashing and the erasure of both Black and queer history within electrontic music. Using the BEAUTIFUL platform, SHERELLE enlisted the help of established & emerging artists such as Loraine James, Scratcha DVA, Nia Archives and TAAHLIAH to release a 18 track compilation entitled BEAUTIFUL VOL. 1.
We have now partnered with BEAUTIFUL to help fund a number of free activations for the BEAUTIFUL and wider black and LGBTIQI+ community. Since last year we have quietly worked with SHERELLE to refine a programme to tackle some of the recurring barriers and obstacles faced by some Black and queer artists at the early stages of their development in becoming professionals, in the form of a pop-up HQ for all things BEAUTIFUL.
