Some components are expected to wear out over X01's lifetime - main example being the battery. X01 has been designed to be disassembled with glue-free design by anyone with 2 screwdrivers, soldering tools and AIAIAI’s step by step repair guides. This will make sure your X01 will stay with you for as long as possible.

TOOLS

All you need is a flathead screwdriver, a crosshead screwdriver and tools for soldering.

REPLACING THE BATTERY

Remove the click-in top cover

• Make sure the X01 is turned off
• Grip tightly and pull the top cover off

Remove covers

• Take your flathead screwdriver, or a tool of similar kind, and find the small opening in each corner of the top cover
• Gently snap open each of the press fittings
• Repeat this process on the bottom cover as well

Remove inner housing

• Unscrew the two screws on the inner housing
• Snap open each of the press fittings shown of the image bellow

Remove the battery

• Unscrew the two screws from the PCBA
• Gently pull the battery out. It will be sticking to the housing
• Unsolder the 2 connecting cables

Battery replacement

• Solder the connectors of the replacement battery to the PCBA
• Fix PCBA and battery back into the inner housing
• Close the inner housing and replace the outer housing
