The X01 transmitter can receive a maximum of 3.5V(peak), above this the signal will be limited, which will distort the sound.

Setting up your device to avoid distortion:

1. Connect the X01 to your device’s headphones output using the neon cable
2. Turn the volume up on your device until you hear some distortion
3. Turn the volume down until you don't hear distortion any longer
4. Turn the volume up on the H10 headband until the audio is loud enough
   

For some use cases where higher volume is required we advise you to connect using the cable. The headphones will go as loud as your current TMA-2's connected in this way.
